Bush Fatigue Strikes the President and America

Judging by the president's words and actions it's clear he's suffering from a condition called Bush Fatigue: being too tired to care what the hell you do or say. Unfortunately, Americans have been suffering from their own version as well. We're just really tired of Bush. Is there a doctor in the house?

From the Iraq war to Plamegate, to Harriet Miers to Dead-Eye Dick and the Birdshot Incident, to Katrina, warrantless wiretappings and the ports controversy, what else besides foot-in-mouth disease could possibly explain Bush's bizarre behavior? Lately, he's his own worst enemy. There seems to be no stopping him from reaping political havoc on his administration. He's a one-man wrecking crew.

Bush Fatigue . The president just doesn't seem to care anymore. He appears detached, disengaged and indifferent. Impatient, and unable and/or unwilling to fully digest the issues before taking stands and making policy. He's tired. Fed up. Crossing off the days on his calendar to when he can sail off into the sunset back to Crawford to fetch balls with Barney and clear some brush. And one look at the national polls tell us another thing: Americans would very much like to pay his gas-fare.

But Bush has three more years left. And we have three more years of Bush. I'm not sure who's going to crack first.

Newsweek reported in January 2005, that GW Administration was considering using the 'Salvador Option’ in Iraq.

"The Pentagon may put Special-Forces-led assassination or kidnapping teams in Iraq

Newsweek

Jan. 8 - What to do about the deepening quagmire of Iraq? The Pentagon’s latest approach is being called "the Salvador option"—and the fact that it is being discussed at all is a measure of just how worried Donald Rumsfeld really is. "What everyone agrees is that we can’t just go on as we are," one senior military officer told NEWSWEEK. "We have to find a way to take the offensive against the insurgents. Right now, we are playing defense. And we are losing."
[T]he Pentagon is intensively debating an option that dates back to a still-secret strategy in the Reagan administration’s battle against the leftist guerrilla insurgency in El Salvador in the early 1980s. Then, faced with a losing war against Salvadoran rebels, the U.S. government funded or supported “nationalist” forces that allegedly included so-called death squads directed to hunt down and kill rebel leaders and sympathizers." Police Tied to Death Squads ~ L.A.Times

"BAGHDAD — A 1,500-member Iraqi police force with close ties to Shiite militia groups has emerged as a focus of investigations into suspected death squads working within the country's Interior Ministry.

Iraq's national highway patrol was established largely to stave off insurgent attacks on roadways. But U.S. military officials, interviewed over the last several days, say they suspect the patrol of being deeply involved in illegal detentions, torture and extrajudicial killings."

Today we learned that the head of the Baghdad morgue has fled the country in fear for his life after reporting that the units have killed more than 7,000 people since last summer.

Faik Bakir, the director of the Baghdad morgue, has fled Iraq in fear of his life after reporting that more than 7,000 people have been killed by death squads in recent months, the outgoing head of the UN human rights office in Iraq has disclosed."

The death squads operate so openly that an American military official in Iraq said, “the amazing this is…they tell you exactly what they are going to do.”

Iraq 'death squad caught in act' ~ BBC
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/middle_east/4719252.stm

"Iraq has launched an investigation into claims by the US military that an Iraqi interior ministry "death squad" has been targeting Sunni Arab Iraqis.

The probe comes after a US general revealed the arrest of 22 policemen allegedly on a mission to kill a Sunni. "

We truely have sunk to a even lower point as a nation IMHO. It's been a tough march down to this level, no wonder Bush is 'fatiqued'.

Bush is drinking again. To offset benders, he's on meds. This is why he no longer cares about what he saying (not if he ever did) because he can't. Go to www.capitalhillblues.com to get the skinny on George's drinking habit because this site is dead on regarding all things political.

We don't have to put up or wait for Bush to leave. We do need to let our wishes be known, though. Even with all the news we don't hear through BushCo control of the media, We've heard and seen enough to favor IMPEACHMENT. Republicans and fence sitting Democrats in Congress need to grow a big set of balls and listen to what their bosses want. But first, us bosses need to send direct messages to Congress - WE WANT PRODUCTIVE CHANGE NOW!

Bush is all but toast, whether impeachment or alcohol gets him first.

Rumor has it that Cheney will resign and MCCain will be appointed VP. Supposedly a deal was made when Bush was afraid that McCain would run with Kerry as VP in the last election.

Has anyone else seen this rumor?

I have heard the rumor that Cheney will step down and I've also heard it refuted. Bush tends to keep people around long past their usefulness so I don't know. 3 more years of Bush huh? This cannot go on. How much more can he wreck? He has got to be impeached and soon. I think congress is slowly coming around. Maybe there is hope.

If Bush is drinking again it may be better for us than his previous "dry drunk" period when most of the disasters were perpetrated. Either way the country didn't have a chance and the worst may be yet to come. (McCain and those like him are Bush's enablers.)

Cathy the rumor is out there but I have another turn in the road for this rumor. The VP steps down after the fall elections and I see Bush appointing his brother Jeb as the VP. Jeb can't run here in Florida (term limits) and has said he will not run for the GOP senate seat which makes you think about the plot of him being VP with his dope brother, another first. This also gives Jeb a chance to run in 2008 or better yet take over as President when George is impeached or steps down.

Think big picture here of a Bush dynasty..............
