Can Someone Please Explain....


How is it that Sen. Hillary Clinton has the reputation of a highly shrill, polarizing, divisive, unliked, self-serving narcissist who's single-handedly destroying the party while Sen. Barack Obama is calm, cool, collected and lauded for his incredible ability to inspire, unite and bring together the masses...yet they are separated by a mere 2.5% in popular vote and by just 8.5% in delegates. Seems to me that, judging by the facts and not partisan spin, they appeal to voters virtually equally. I guess love is blind. As is the mainstream media.

Kudos to the Obama camp for creating the most overblown myth since "War hero John Kerry can't protect us from terrorists but the draft-dodging Alabama-AWOL George Bush can...."

    I'm am an ardent Democrat and have voted for every Democratic nominee since the 60's...but for the life of me, I can't just pinch my nose hard enough to take the stench off a vote for Obama. This guy has no leadership qualities...nada! He's another Dubya who will rely on his advisors. Something needs to be done in this party to reverse this abomination so Hillary is on the TOP of this ticket!

    I thought this went without saying, but now I suppose it doesn't. People, for the most part, don't think that Hillary is being divisive because of her intent on staying in the campaign, but rather the way she has chosen to run her campaign ever since late February. It's her kitchen sink strategy, and particularly her consistent flattering of McCain and denigration of Obama, that irks many people and causes them to see her as being a divisive figure. Obama has not been nearly as negative toward Clinton as she has been toward him. Though I do agree with the first poster that the decade-plus long effort of the Republican slime machine has created the conditions where it's easier for many people to quickly label her as a polarizing figure. Before this campaign began, Hillary was already suffering from unusually high negatives. Her tactics have merely confirmed the perception.

    As always you must look closely behind the media hype for the real story. hilary is not a monster. She is a decent person who cares deeply about our country. Obama is not a "shuck and jivester". Read his two books to make the measure of the man. Do the research. Don't pay attention to the hype.

    Obama has attempted to give the illusion he is middle class. He wants people to believe he was repressed.

    How can that be? Obama graduated from the exclusive private Punahou High School in Hawaii. He attended Occidential College, a small private college in Los Angeles. He graduated from Columbia University, a private university in New York City. And, received his law degree from Harvard University, a private university. Both Columbia and Harvard are considered ivy league schools.

    His family income was $1.6 million in 2005 and close to $1 million in 2006. He lives in a multi-million dollar home.

    He has stocks, government paid health care, government paid retirement benefits and his children go to private school.

    Obama grew up with an elitist background and HE wants America to believe he understands the plight of the middle class and repressed! He is just a typical Washington politician living off tax payers. What is so offensive is that he tries to make people believe he different from the other politicians.

    You are right. One the best myths told to date.

    Part of the reason Hillary's numbers aren't soaring is because so many Dmocrats have deserted her I simply cannot understand why Kennedy, Caroline (who came out of seclusion), Kerry, Pelosi, Richardson -- we all know the long list -- have supported Obama instead of her. On top of that MSNBC and CNN have bashed her without mercy and praised Obama while overlooking his shortcomings. The only place I've heard Obamas biography is on this site by 9:12 Anon. What is behind this is something I would like to know However, I believe she will be elected President because Fox News and Glenn Beck are really pursuing the Wright connection because they still think Hillary would be easier to beat than Obama. They're in for a shock when that works and Hillary wins.

    Hillary is calculated. Both she and Bill are. It worked for Bill in the 1990s. Look at the polls and figure out their postion.

    Times have changed. The internet changed a lot of things. Read The Cluetrain Manifesto.

    It's not that she's a bad person, or shrill, or whatever. But she ran a calculated campaign and it didn't work. A more human side probably would have done the trick. Blame the media, but it's her advisors who blew it.

    Dear God -- 10:11 -- did you even bother to read what Ostroy wrote. The point of his article is that she and Obama are tied.

    And I'm sure 10:08 is a male chauvenist pig.

    His kind have been a problem for Hillary, but she is overcoming that. She's even with Obama in the campaign despite the misogynists in and out of the media.

    Obama represents change to the voters who support him. He is very well educated, brilliant and well qualified. He is a constitutional law professor as well as a senator. Having a president who not only knows the constitution but likes it enough to teach it would be good. He also has tons of charisma.
    Hillary has the Clinton name and is a pretty good speaker as well. People remember how good the Clinton years were and want that again. who can blame them?
    Either way we win and that is why this race is so close.

    What change does Obama offer and how will he pull them off? He will suddenly convert the Republicans to the Democratic Party? Will hr suddenly make the blacks, hispanics, whites, men and women all see eye to eye anf forget their self-serving interests? What is he going to do? His platform is alsmot word for word of Hillary's so that won't be the difference. Already he has alienated so many ny his affiliation with Rev. Wright. He would be more of the same -- Dems. caving in to Republicans. That is, if it were possible for him to be elected, which it is not.

    Obama represents "change" in rhetoric only. Realistically, he is not going to pull troops out of Iraq if he becomes the decision maker.

    Obama couldn't even make a decision when he was voting for his state. His voting record shows he votes "present" because he can't take a stand on issues.

    do any of you really delude yourselves into thinking that she would give a damn about their votes if it looked like she had the nomination locked down, or even just if she was in obama's position? the timing of her actions clearly betrays her motives

    Obviously Obama not only doesn't care, he really wants to see to it that not American has a vote that counts.

    The truth is, no one in the country would care about those votes if they didn't make a difference; that's the concern. Nor would those now deprived voters care about their vote either if they had no value.

    Hillary does want them to count because that would mean the election had been won fairly either by her or by Obama. The voters would decide by exercising their RIGHT to vote and be counted. I repeat: that would mean that the election had been fair. If Obama had any integrity he too would want to ensure that the election was fair. But although it's not a given, he thinks it would help Hillary. However, he doesn't mind stealing it; as Bush didn't mind when he stole it from Gore in the very same state. Amazing.

    If Democrats wanted integrity in elections then please explain why the Democrats are the ones blocking identification checks at the election booths.

    And don't give me the "its a vote tax" to require identification. We live in the 21st century. The only people who are against showing identification are the ones voting multiple times, in multiple states, or illegally.

    Hillary is being "swiftboated"!

    She claimed that she came under sniper fire when she visited in Bosnia in 1996, but was contradicted by videotape showing her sauntering off the plane and stopping on the tarmac to listen to a little girl read her a poem.

    Similarly, John Kerry's claim to heroism in Vietnam was contradicted by 264 Swift Boat Veterans who served with him. His claim to having been on a secret mission to Cambodia for President Nixon on Christmas 1968 was contradicted not only by all of his commanders -- who said he would have been court-martialed if he had gone anywhere near Cambodia -- but also the simple fact that Nixon wasn't president on Christmas 1968.

    In Hillary's defense, she probably deserves a Purple Heart about as much as Kerry did for his service in Vietnam.

    Also, unlike Kerry, Hillary acknowledged her error, telling the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review: "I was sleep-deprived, and I misspoke." (What if she's sleep-deprived when she gets that call on the red phone at 3 a.m., imagines a Russian nuclear attack and responds with mutual assured destruction? Oops. "It proves I'm human.")

    The reason no one claims Hillary is being "swiftboated" is that the definition of "swiftboating" is: "producing irrefutable evidence that a Democrat is lying." And for purposes of her race against matinee idol B. Hussein Obama, Hillary has become the media's honorary Republican.

    In liberal-speak, only a Democrat can be swiftboated. Democrats are "swiftboated"; Republicans are "guilty." So as an honorary Republican, Hillary isn't being swiftboated; she's just lying.

    Indeed, instead of attacking the people who produced a video of Hillary's uneventful landing in Bosnia, the mainstream media are the people who discovered that video.

    I've always wondered how a Democrat would fare being treated like a Republican by the media. Now we know.

    It's such fun watching liberals turn on the Clintons! The bitter infighting among Democrats is especially enjoyable after having to listen to Democrats hyperventilate for months about how delighted they were to have so many wonderful choices for president.

    Now liberals just want to be rid of the Clintons -- which is as close to actual mainstream thinking as they've been in years. So the media suddenly notice when Hillary "misspeaks," while rushing to make absurd excuses for much greater outrages by her opponent.

    Liberals are even using the Slick Willy defense when Obama is caught fraternizing with a racist loon. When Bill Clinton was exposed as a philandering, adulterous, pathological liar, his defenders said that everybody is a philandering, adulterous, pathological liar.

    And now, when B. Hussein Obama is caught in a 20-year relationship with a raving racist, his defenders scream that everybody is a racist wack-job.

    In the Obama speech on race that Chris Matthews deemed "worthy of Abraham Lincoln," B. Hussein Obama defended Wright's anti-American statements, saying:

    "For the men and women of Rev. Wright's generation, the memories of humiliation and doubt and fear have not gone away; nor has the anger and the bitterness of those years. That anger may not get expressed in public, in front of white co-workers or white friends. But it does find voice in the barbershop or around the kitchen table."

    So in the speech the media are telling us is on a par with the Gettysburg Address, B. Hussein Obama casually informed us that even blacks who seem to like white people actually hate our guts.

    First of all: Watch out the next time you get your hair cut by a black barber over the age of 50.

    Second, Rev. Wright's world wasn't segregated.

    And third, what about Wright's wanton anti-Semitism? All the liberals (including essence-besplattered Chris Matthews) have accepted Obama's defense of Wright and want us to understand Wright's "legitimate" rage over his painful youth in segregated America.

    But the anti-Semitic tone of Wright's sermons is as clear as his rage against the United States. Rev. Wright calls Israel a "dirty word" and a "racist country." He denounces Zionism and calls for divestment from Israel.

    In addition to videos of Rev. Wright's sermons, Obama's church also offers for sale sermons by Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, whom Rev. Wright joined on a visit to Moammar Gadhafi in Libya in 1984. Just last year, Obama's church awarded Farrakhan the Dr. Jeremiah A. Wright Jr. Trumpeter Award, saying Farrakhan "truly epitomized greatness."

    What, pray tell, is the legitimate source of Wright's anti-Semitism? I believe Brother Obama passed over that issue entirely in his "conversation," even as he made the obligatory bow to Israel's status as one of our "stalwart allies." Why does crazy "uncle" Wright dislike Jews?

    Will liberals contend that these remarks were "taken out of context"? Maybe Wright's church was trying to say that Farrakhan isn't great when it said he "epitomized greatness." Who knows? We weren't there.

    Can liberals please educate us on the "legitimate" impulses behind Rev. Wright's Jew-baiting?

    Perhaps because Obama skyrocketed to the lead from essentially no where, and HRC has pulled out all the stops in negative campaigning. Winners are given a break while losers suffer.

    Also, how DO you explain charisma? It may be supposedly "unfair" for those without it, but none the less it is a real, if not, valid emotional state. I guess HRC is sorry she dosen't have it, while Obama uses it.

    Hillary is a documented liar. Forget the obvious sniper lie. Here's some more examples:

    There's the story about Chelsea jogging around the World Trade Center when the Islamic terrorists attacked on 9/11. Wasn't true. Chelsea was nowhere near the trade center. Where did Hillary get this story? Did her daughter make a mistake and tell her that she was out jogging? Hardly. There was no basis at all for this lie. None. This was Hillary trying to make herself a part of this tragic story .. telling a bold lie in order to bring to herself just some of the sympathy felt for those who suffered actually losses in this attack by Muslim goons.

    How about Monica Lewinsky? Do you really think that the whole story was just made up by some "vast right wing conspiracy" to discredit her husband? Come on now. How many so-called "bimbo eruptions" had Hillary handled before Monica came huffing along? She knew what a whore-dog her husband was, yet she sat there and prattled on about a right-wing conspiracy. Just another lie.

    Then we have the Sir Edmund Hillary thing. Yeah .. her mother named her after the first person to climb Mt. Everest. Problem is, nobody had heard of Sir Edmund Hillary when Hillary Rodham was born. A lie.

    Remember Bill Clinton pardoning those Puerto Rican FALN terrorists as he left office? Hillary was running for the Senate in New York at the time, and the Puerto Rican community was demanding these terrorists be pardoned. Hillary – the woman so involved with everything Bill did in the White House – says she didn't know about the pardons. Right.

    Oh yeah ... Hillary wanted to be an astronaut. Remember this one? She wrote NASA to find out how to apply, and she says they wrote back saying that they "don't take girls." Sally Ride was about three years younger than Hillary when she became the first U.S. woman in space. Do you believe that NASA actually sent that letter to Hillary.

    Then there's this biggie. The Rose Law Firm billing records. This wasn't an inconsequential lie designed to enhance her image. It was a lie to cover her rear end. Investigators wanted her billing records from the Rose Law Firm to see if she had done any work on a tax scam known as Casa Grande. She claimed – under oath – that she didn't have those billing records, that she didn't know where they were, and that she frankly doubted that they existed at all. Well .. it turns out they did indeed exist. They were found in her private quarters in the White House two years after she swore under oath that she didn't have them. Not only were they found, but they had her handwriting and fingerprints on them. This particular lie was a crime. She was never prosecuted.

    Moving right along to the soccer lie. The story here was supposed to be that Hillary was on a junior high school soccer team and had a confrontation with the goal tender from an opposing team. If I remember the story correctly, the opposing goalie told Hillary that she didn't like white people. Oh yeah .. like high school soccer goalies just spontaneously blurt out their hatred for white people during a soccer game. The problem here was that the school Hillary was attending didn't have a soccer team. Another lie.

    Hillary says she didn't give the order to fire the White House travel office staff. Staffers remember the exact words she used: "Fire their asses." She then had their asses and all their belongings unceremoniously dumped on the Ellipse behind the White House.

Prepare to come up with some excuses....the shit is about to hit the fan about a lie regarding a liberal survey Obama claims to never have seen. The problem is that his handwriting was found on the survey.

    Of COURSE! We have absolutely NO DESIRE for people to keep voting in elections! We HATE it when people vote in elections. It really sucks that the majority of people have voted for Obama so far. We only want everyone to vote so that we can convince those already selected pledged delegates to change their allegiance and disenfranchise the people who have ALREADY VOTED! And we also want the superdelegates to vote for the person who has won the fewest states and fewest popular votes and fewest pledged delegates (which we already said that we'll try to convince to change sides). But remember, we absolutely CANNOT disenfranchise those voters in MI and FL who already voted. We promise not to try to get those pledged delegates in those two states to change their minds. That would be anti-Democratic and downright un-American!

    We all need to come together and torture logic until it begs for mercy!

There have not been any commercial's out there for the american public to see,if there were,do you really think the GREAT ONE (obama) would be in the be lead,Do you really thing there isn't a 527 group out there that will not use Mr WRIGHTS sermons and service sheets to prove that it just wasn't a 30 second snippit to make Obama look bad,Mccain will lead obama by 20 pionts in the end.The only reason the ads haven't been out yet,is the right-wing Don't just want obama has their challeger,they pray every night for it.they even go to church and light candles

    Among the debts reported this month by Hillary Rodham Clinton’s struggling presidential campaign, the $292,000 in unpaid health insurance premiums for her campaign staff stands out.

    Hillary does not care about Health Care, she's trying to buy votes from the leeches that want a nanny state to take care of them with other people's money.

    I can't imagine how Hillary would fail to pay for her staff's health care. Does she want them to die ?

    Barack Obama is running an ad in Pennsylvania designed to play on the voter's general dissatisfaction with the oil companies. He mentions Exxon's profits but does not mention the profit margin. Then he says "I don't take money from oil companies .... "

    OK .. so that's not a direct lie. He's right. He doesn't take money from oil companies. Neither does John McCain, nor Hillary Clinton. Ditto for all candidates for the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. And why not? Well, Obama hasn't taken any contributions from oil companies because since 1907 it has been illegal for any corporation to make a direct contribution to a federal candidate. So .. let's call BFD on this campaign ad claim.

    But wait! There's more! And you're going to get this without paying shipping and handling. Here are two goodies from Factcheck.org:

    Obama has accepted more than $213,000 from individuals who work for companies in the oil and gas industry and their spouses.
    Two of Obama's bundlers are top executives at oil companies and are listed on his Web site as raising between $50,000 and $100,000 for the presidential hopeful.

    Better would be Clark for President. Obama cannot be elected president because the Republicans are going to use Wright and play "God damn America" over and over and over. In fat, Obama would be a losing force if he was to run as v.p. on another's ticket. Every single night someone on one network or another brings up Wright and the church. Tonight's polls also show Obama losing to McCain.

    Now she claims she "misheard" the question. Last week she misremembered and misspoke, this week she misheard.

    Hillary is divisive not only for the country but for the DNC. Her attacks will make sure that Obama cannot be hired, which makes me very happy.

First of all, I never understood the argument, which was deployed against John Edwards, that you have to actually be poor or middle class in order to champion their cause. Last time I checked, the President who had done the most for the impoverished of this nation and built the socio-economic safety net was Franklin Roosevelt, who happened to have been born into the WASP, elite establishment, and never struggled economically himself. The argument is completely bogus and is largely meant to minimize the prospects of real progress.

    Second,
    Barack Obama did not live a life of privilege. He went to his fancy schools by way of scholarships and loans. He was raised (though with help from his maternal grandparents) for the most part by a single mother, who was not a woman of wealth and privilege. She was merely an anthropologist.

    And I can assure you that I will not blame the Clintons should Obama somehow lose the general election. Rather, I will blame my country for once again giving in to ignorance and its base prejudices.

    Even if he had been rich, which he wasn't, it still makes no difference as you have not even attempted to explain why it matters, as my noting of Roosevelt's great contribution belies your intimation that the well-off can't or won't do anything beneficial for the poor. You have not provided any facts yourself that Obama was well-off. $12,500/yr is a lot of money for high school. However, if his mother and grandparents both contributed to tuition and made sacrifices so that he could get the best education possible, so what? It doesn't mean they were wealthy. You still have yet to indicate why it is impossible for someone who is not poor to care about the needs of the poor and to champion their cause. That's the real issue here, and not how much his mother or grandparents were worth. You clearly are depressed, angry and envious of any one with a good education.

    I graduated from a pretty expensive private university and private law school, as well. However, my father was a retired New York City public school teacher. He supported a family of five on roughly $50,000 a year. As such, all of my education was financed from a combination of grants, scholarships, and loans. This is how Barack got through college and law school. He wasn't fabulously wealthy like George W. Bush or marry into mega-money like John McCain and John Kerry.


    Also, 90% or so of blacks voted for Al Gore over George Bush. 80% or so voted for Kerry over Bush. If blacks were truly racist as you suggest, then Al Sharpton would have had a much stronger showing in 2004 and would have won South Carolina. Didn't happen, son. Sure, plenty of blacks voted for Obama b/c he's black. But most voted for him because he's POLITICALLY GIFTED, as well as black. In fact, I'm sure plenty of undereducated, overworked, underpaid white people will vote for McCain instead of Obama partly because McCain is white. So would you then say that such a voting pattern means that all of those people are racist? I wouldn't go so far. People often vote for people that they're comfortable with, whether that goes to trust, likeability, "having a beer with them" or, sadly, "looking like them." Just a fact of life, not necessarily based on malicious intent.

    Your ill-founded rant makes you seem like a real sad, pathetic person. I feel sorry for you actually.

    Not only did someone pay for Obama's expensive private school, he was not an oustanding student. On TV recently when one of his classmates was asked if he had been an outstanding student, she replied "Not at all". But then seeing her blunder said "but there were a lot of physists and really bright students in that school." Obama did not win a scholarship.

    And quoting RFK about unity is a joke when you use it in defense of Obama. You do recall Rev. Wright dont you and his congregation of 8,000 who support him? And again, Anonymous is right, the blacks are being racists in this contest, and they've even threatened to continue their racism by leaving the Dem. Part if Obama is not the candidate.     Over the last five weeks, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York has featured in her campaign stump speeches the story of a health care horror: an uninsured pregnant woman who lost her baby and died herself after being denied care by an Ohio hospital because she could not come up with a $100 fee.

    The woman, Trina Bachtel, did die last August, two weeks after her baby boy was stillborn at O’Bleness Memorial Hospital in Athens, Ohio. But hospital administrators said Friday that Ms. Bachtel was under the care of an obstetrics practice affiliated with the hospital, that she was never refused treatment and that she was, in fact, insured.

    “We implore the Clinton campaign to immediately desist from repeating this story,” said Rick Castrop, chief executive officer of the O’Bleness Health System.

    Naturally 3:53 did not print the entire article by Ms.Sontag which explained the entire story. Clinton was told about Trinna Brachtel by Deputy Brian Holman and, although she repeated it in her campaign she did not mention any names nor the name of the hospital. Somehow the hopsital called attention to the story and denied it through a Ms Weiss, the spokesman for O'Brien Memorial. The Clinton representative contacted the hospital but was told they could offer no further comments nor proof BECAUSE OF PRIVACY CONCERNS.

    That obviously had not been a concern when they revealed the patient's name to the press.

    This is a he said, she said, they said story and the facts are not known. However, if it'd been left alone in its anonymity there would be no controversy to twist to damage Mrs. Clinton nor any breach of privacy by the hospital.

    The Hillary Haters always blame her. In the article the hospital spokesman said the story was not ture and Hillary should stop repeating the town Deputy's story. When the Hillary Campaign representative. tried to get the TRUTH from the hospital the Hospital Rep. would not allow the records to be revealed. However, both previous contributors to this blog assume Hillary is the one who is lying.

    And, the "he said, (Deputy); she said (Hosp. Rep.)he said\ (Hospital Rep) were spokemen other than Hillary. She was merely quoiting the town law enforcement official.

    I can only assume Hillary Haters are extremely unintelligent, or are blinded by their hatred. Either way it's very sad.

    Have you given thought yet to Obama's Vice Presidential short list?

    My top five:
    1) Richardson: his hispanic background puts into play 80 electoral votes. He definitely helps the Democrats win New Mexico, Nevada, and Colorado. He also helps make Texas competitive, and gives us a chance in Florida (esp. if McCain choses Governor Crist for his VP). Plus, he's got diplomatic/national security experience and is great on Energy issues..

    2) Tim Kaine...Gets Obama Virginia's 13 electoral votes. Executive experience in southern state, youngish, early supporter of Obama.

    3) Sherrod Brown-Helps secure a victory in Ohio. Helps Obama with the blue-collar white voters. Helps focus debate on the economy.

    4) Tim Roemer (pro-life position may help increase the number of Obamacans) (National security experience-member of 9/11 commission and heads a national security think tank...) Possibly makes Indiana a swing state.

    5) Barbara Boxer-locks in California and the pacific northwest, and helps Obama with women voters. She voted against the Iraq war resolution, which will help bolster Obama's anti-war street cred.

    Biden doesn't want the job, which he'd view as a mere emeritus position. He wants State. Webb is not a good campaigner, and doesn't necessarily lock up Virginia as Kaine would do. Edwards doesn't help anyone on anything. Dodd would make a better Treasury secretary and I doubt would like to leave the confines of the Senate. And I dont believe that Obama would pick a non-Democrat, so sorry to Bloomberg and Chuck Hagel.

    I think it'll either be Richardson, Kaine or Boxer...

Obama is out spending hillary 5 to 1 there.Just maybe the reason Obama can't close the deal is because people see he doesn't face truth either,he claims he didn't have a life of privilage,but every fact you check shows he did,private schools,no scholarships,just mommy and gramma's money. and then to show you how he appreciated gramma's help,he threw her under the bus as a racist,in his support of rev. Wright.If he doesn't beat Hillary in penn.,he can't win the general against Mccain. The reason he can't is the Hillary campain for some unknown reason has not run a commercal about rev.     If Obama is the big BRING THE COUNTRY TOGETHER WITH HOPE MAN why did the KKK have a HUGE RALLY last week in MEMPHIS and the SOUTH to , as they said, defend the rights of WHITES and our country. Lots of cops were needed to keep order. The KKK was pretty quiet until Rev. Wright got into the act. We're in big trouble. And, if Obama gets the nomination McCain will be president. The Super Delegates who are flocking to Obama are idiots and so is Dean. Thahk God he wasn't elected President. Obama can't win and he's causing dissention.

    Not only that, The Republicans are consdering Condi as the VP for McCain which will split the black vote at election time. Obama can't survive Wright or Coni Rice.

    I don't know how you choose to define "empty suit"...But I define it as a person who is not intelligent, not intellecually curious, not engaged on the issues, who is not willing to work hard, who has had everything handed to them on a silver platter, and who is only out for his/her own self-aggrandizement and glorification.

    When i think of "empty suits" among our collective leaders, I think of George W. Bush, former Senator George Allen of Virginia, former Vice President Dan Quayle, Fred Thompson. On the Democratic side, as much as I loved his agenda, John Edwards just reeked of empty suit.

    Neither Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton nor John McCain are "empty suits." Sure, i'd love it if Obama had more experience, but he's proven that he has a commanding intellect and a nuanced worldview, and the ability to master public policy. Hillary is a policy wonk in her own right and has an intellect to be both feared and respected. John McCain has a daunting command of foreign policy and military history. I wish he cared as deeply about domestic issues. He could use a few tutorials on macroeconomics, international economics, and health care policy. Standard laissez-faire policy just ain't cutting it Mac!

    There are those who think The United Church of Christ is a "divisive group" and if they don't now they will when the Republicans do their campaigning.

    So, you imply that if Illinois legislature requires certain positions and behavior Obama had no choice - just like he had no choice in his church. Sir, I think "going along to get along" qualifies him as an Empty Suit.
