With Just Eleven Days to Go, Here's How You Can Help Democrats Win the House and Senate

On November 7th voters will have the chance to change the course of modern American history by changing the power structure that Republicans have had a choke-hold on for 12 years. Many key races are very tight and getting ugly in terms of the GOP's deceptive, untrue, shameful attack ads in the campaign's final week. What we as Democrats can do to help our candidates, and our party, win next month is to send money. That's what these brave folks need most right now in order to effectively combat the onslaught of negative ads being produced by the Repugs (see "The Stakes"; Bob Corker's ads attacking Harold Ford Jr in Tennessee; Rick Santorum's Bob Casey ads; the stem-cell battle in Missouri; etc). In the final days of the 2006 campaign, it's all about money, money, money.

In the Senate, Democrats need six seats to regain control. Here are the tightest races, and the candidates who need your money most (these Democrats either are ahead by just a a few percentage points, or are in dead heats):

-New Jersey: Sen. Bob Menendez

-Tennessee: Rep. Harold Ford, Jr.

-Virginia: Jim Webb

-Missouri: Claire McCaskill

-Rhode Island: Sheldon Whitehouse

-Montana: Jon Tester

The following Democrats hold strong leads, but still need a massive war chest:

-Pennsylvania: Bob Casey Jr.

-Ohio: Rep. Sherrod Brown

In the House, where Democrats need 15 seats to take control, there are dozens of candidates locked in tight races that desperately need contributions. These include:

-New York: Kirsten Gillibrand

-New York: John Hall

-Michigan: Nancy Skinner

-Pennsylvania: Joe Sestak

-Illinois: John Laesch (challenging House Speaker Denny Hastert)

-Illinois: Tammy Duckworth (seeking seat of retiring Republican Henry Hyde)

There are many other worthy House candidates and close races as well. You can find them on the 'net in minutes.

You can also send money to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and organizations such as Your money will spent on worthy candidates in the most needed races:

Please send whatever you can. The Repugs are very good at pulling out all stops in the final days of the election. We must combat this aggressiveness with that of our own. We have a real shot here at winning both the House and Senate. Let's together make it a reality.

You don't want to send money to, which knowingly and willfully welcomed racist, anti-Catholic, and anti-Semitic hate speech at its Action Forum until the widening scandal forced the forum to shut down in late September.'s own FAQ page for the Action Forum proves that MoveOn lied about not knowing about the hate speech.

The you-know-what is already hitting the fan and now the only question is how many Democratic candidates will drag under with it on November 7. The Democrats need to cut this rogue organization loose NOW.

Don't associate your name with a hate organization. Call on behalf of your local Democratic Party instead.

3:00 From the beginning I have gotten email-newsletters from MOVEON and have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. What widening scandal? MOVEON is NOT a hate organization and has provided a great service to our country. Are you another lying Republican?

3:00 You people will stop at NOTHING. The FORUM on MOVEON is like this "forum". Any nut can post anything and it does not necessarily reflect Ostroy's position, nor is he responsible. Some remarks were made on Move On's forum that were offensive and MOVE On removed them quickly. Rabbi Arthur Waskow - you know him, I'm sure - wrote: "The scurrilous attacks on MOveON have been based on the brief appearance of Anti-Semitic comments written by non-staff people on its open forum When .. MoveOn org. learned about the comments, they acted swiftly to remove the offensive remarks. The Anti-Defamation League praised their response, delcaring themselves 'satisfied with (MoveOn's) responsiveness' and characterizing the matter as having been 'resolved satisfactorily." Moreoever many of MoveOne's staff are not only Jewish, but Jewisly motiviated to tikkun olam through righteous action (tzedekah) and acts of loving-kindness ... " So you and your Republican kind -- Lay off!!!!

During the recent Israeli conflict there were anti-semitic remarks on this post which Ostroy allowed to remain in the interest of free speech I imagine. He surely, as most of us, did not agree with the anti-semitic remarks. But people are allowed to say what they will and, if you're smart, it doesn't hurt to know what the "enemy" is thinking so their stupidity can be countered.

I hope you are a Democrat and I hope the reaction to your post highlights the hatred in the Democratic party. It just goes to show that if you don't blindly bow down to the COMPLETE Democratic platform, Democrats will throw you under a bus. Democrats no longer accept dissent. They are full of hatred and YOU MUST be a republican mole just because you don't like MOVEON.ORG.

8:50 undoubtedly aka Larry. That's the same, old tired response we've heard from him for a year. MoveOn is innocent of Bill's charges and has nothing to do with the COMPLETE Democratic platform as your post as nothing to do with reason.
